Aylin Taslak

Aylin Taslak was born in Istanbul in 1995. She graduated with honors from both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the Sculpture Department of Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During her studies, she created works in printmaking and sculpture, with her pieces exhibited in various group shows. In 2019, she won the First Prize in the Sculpture Model Project on the theme of “Autism Syndrome” organized by Asperger Syndrome and Autism Association (Asperder) and Kadıköy Municipality. Her sculpture was installed at Erenköy 19 Mayıs Park.

 

In 2021, Aylin completed her master’s thesis, Labyrinth: A Virtual Reality Project, which was showcased at AKM, Sonar, and the International Izmir Fair. In 2024, her sculpture Labyrinth was awarded First Prize at the ASAŞ Aluminum Sculpture Competition. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Istinye University.

 

Aylin is a multidisciplinary artist who, in addition to working with traditional mediums like sculpture, printmaking, and painting, also explores new media technologies. She investigates the intersections of physical and digital art practices, blending them in her work to examine and expand artistic expressions. She reinterprets ancient and esoteric symbols through contemporary art forms and continues to produce new works centered around these themes at her studio in Istanbul.
