Seçil Erel is a London-based Turkish-British artist with studios in London and Istanbul. After earning her BA and MA from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, she collaborated with various institutions and participated in numerous international exhibitions, symposiums, and residencies. Moving to London to expand her artistic practice, she received a scholarship from the London Creative Network and the EU, studying Artist Business Development. She also played a key role in founding the Turkish-language version of the Artist Support Pledge, Sanatçı Destek Birliği, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Seçil’s abstract, modular paintings are characterized by layered textures, bold colors, and dynamic compositions. Inspired by mathematics, her work integrates systematic structures with deep emotional expression. She explores themes of time, space, and transformation, emphasizing adaptability and the energy of the present moment. Through her large-scale works, she invites viewers to experience multiple perspectives and engage with the ever-evolving nature of creativity.
